Hard to Forget is a fast paced action filled read. This is the third book in a series but can be read as a standalone. You get a sexy bad boy billionaire that meets his match in a sassy female bodyguard. Jax is used to women falling at his feet not throwing him on his sexy backside. Delaney has a tougher time breaking into an all alpha security firm than taking down the bad guys. On her first case she meets Jax and has to prove her abilities again. This is not love at first sight or even like at first sight. I enjoyed reading about this more than capable heroine face the bad guys and not need to be saved. Very refreshing. This book flowed so smoothly it was a fast read. Good balance of suspense, bad guy action, relationship drama, and romance. Jax may have a panty melting smile but I may have my first girl crush on Delaney. Great read and great job Bella Jewel.

What Delaney always wanted was to be in the Armed Forces, unfortunately she has a problem with her eyesight and the door has closed on that profession. After witnessing a drive-by shooting in which a man was saved by a personal bodyguard her spirits are lifted as she realises there was another way to protect people.

She has been years training be to a bodyguard for Thorpe Security. As the only female in this male dominated establishment, she can only take the next step of getting a case protecting a client when she can take down her boss Nak. And after being the brunt of a joke once again, she does just that.

She now has her first case, protecting Hotel owner Jaxson Shields who is none too happy that he is being given a woman to protect him. She has Kyle to help her out for a few weeks and he isn't happy to be working with her either but Delaney is confident that she can do this, with or without Jaxson's approval. Only problem is the more she works with him, the more difficult it is to resist him.

The title says it all - Hard to forget. This was a great book from page one right up until the end.

Delaney and Jax get off to a rough start. Delaney is pursuing her dream of being a bodyguard and finds herself subject to men who think it is still the 1950's. All of the men where she works treat her like she's a joke. The insults she was subjected to were tough to take and the lack of respect was appalling. Jax was no better than her co-workers and insulted her from the beginning. Delaney does make some mistakes but her heart was always in the right place. The only problem I had with the book was the fact that Jax was still a manwhore and, even though he was just with a woman that morning, they both wanted each other that afternoon. That was a bit tough to comprehend. If she wasn't slapped in the face with that, I don't know what would have woken her up. When they do start to give into their feelings, both are cautious but also know they risk discovery. I did have an issue with Delaney not coming clean, since she was supposedly a rule follower and this was her "dream" job. Nak was put in an uncomfortable position a few times by Delaney. Jax needs protection after witnessing the rape and murder of a girl by a gang and his life is put on the line several times in this book. Delaney did come through and do her job, even though she was again sidelined by single-minded male thinking by all of her co-workers and boss. Her intuition proved corrected and saved several lives, including Jax's. It was well done and the ending was a nice way to wrap it up.
I generally LOVE books by Bella Jewel. I have read the Joker's Wrath series and the Hell's Knights series and devoured them. I also read the first two books in the "Hard to.." series and liked them a lot as well.

So, I liked this book but wasn't in love with it. I liked the characters, Delaney and Jax and the plot was fine, but there was no "hook" with this book. It was well written but pretty predictable and reminded me too much of the first book in this series, Hard to Fight. While I liked both characters, the story is told from Delaney's POV so I never really got the sense that I knew or understood Jax. Also, some aspects of the plot didn't make sense since Jax witnessed a brutal rape (why bad guys were after him) why wasn't he in a witness protection program or at least had the police department involved in protecting him as well? I know he was a billionaire and could afford his own security, but he was also a material witness, actually the only witness to a heinous crime. Its hard to believe that the police and prosecutors wouldn't be more involved in his security detail.

I think I was also a little disappointed that Delaney significantly curtailed her career for love. I wish someone would write a romance novel where the men compromise their career for once! It does happen in real life!

Even with all of that, I would have given it 4 stars but I really thought the ending was rushed and contrived and thus disappointing.

If you like Bella Jewel's books, you'll like this one too. It is an enjoyable, entertaining read but its also the kind of book that you won't remember 6 months from now.
