Slow start but then it get interesting but drops off like the story should be continued. I understand there is a sequel but it is an odd place to stop. Not sure the sequel is available for download.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! Love this series.
This story has it all; romance, adventure,mystery and the characters are endearing,,,I was thinking it would have made a good serial during the early movie era.
Like all of her other books, Cruel as the Grave is excellent. But not quite as good as some of them. No book surpasses Ishmael, or In the Depths and its sequel, Self-Raised. But this book and its sequel Tried for her Life are very good.
