To Dance With Dolphins is definitely Bonnie Leon’s best work. I’ve been a follower of her writing since the first release of Journey of Eleven Moons. Bonnie is a gifted storyteller and this book did not disappoint. A contemporary book, it tells the story of five people as they not only journey across the country, but enter into a personal, emotional and spiritual journey of their own. There is a simple, yet profound phrase in the first chapter that gives away so much of what the book is about. Claire states, “Please be happy for me. The last nine years have been about being sick. I feel like I’m drowning in my illness. This is a chance to make my life about something else.” It is through the characters’ heartaches, victories, setbacks and triumphs that the reader is drawn into the story. Bonnie so powerfully weaves their lives together, that I found myself cheering them on when facing an obstacle, crying for them when they suffered defeat and rejoicing when they experienced victory. The characters came alive in the pages of this book and helped me gain a greater understanding of those who live with physical disabilities. Not only did Bonnie make the characters of this story come to life, but she also beautifully describes the country as they travel. Makes want to take the same trip! I highly recommend this book. I enjoyed it, but some parts were a bit slow and rather boring, but overall, I liked the book, I like Bonnie's writings, it had a lovely ending though, thanks Bonnie
The writer has a deep empathy with the many layers of suffering and depression of those with disabilities. The story keeps the reader's attention on the next traumatic challenge. Well done.
This book isnt even about dolphins, its about a roadtrip. I quit about half way, too much about god and faith. I should of read more into synopsis before purchasing.
What a triumphant, encouraging, hope-filled tale of a company of people who persevere and find themselves and their callings. Well done author Bonnie Leon! Well done indeed. You have yet again sent out God's love into the world. My favorite line “No buts. Whatever happens, we can do it with God’s help. And he can do anything.” And that seems to be Bonnie's legacy...with God all things are possible. Thank you for the book!
A story of courage and trust. Throw in each person's disabilities and budding new friendships and this becomes a book that can encourage each of us to get off our pity box and root for these adventurers that lean on the Lord to just have a normal day. With faith, courage and each other, they plan the impossible and take a trip across the country together in order to Swim with the Dolphins.

Bonnie Leon, with nineteen other books to her credit, has not only perfected her craft, but has used the art of Fiction to encourage, enlighten and engulf the reader with compassion and pure delight.
To Dance with Dolphins immediately captured my attention as a group of four very different people, each with some type of disability, board a large motor-home and set off across the country. Their mission is to experience independence, face their fears and pursue their dreams. When the owner of the rig becomes ill, they pick up a hitchhiker and pay him to drive. Now there are five, and the adventure begins.
The story will make you laugh, cry, and applaud. Bonnie Leon has polished each character until he or she shines.
I highly recommend To Dance with Dolphins. It is the most delightful book I’ve read in a long time.

This is a beautiful, well-told story by veteran author, Bonnie Leon. When a mishmashed group of people with disabilities goes on a cross-country adventure, the unlikeliest tests of love, faith, courage, and friendship ensue. As I read this story, it occurred to me how easily we can misunderstand the symptoms and struggles people with chronic issues deal with. Even people with issues themselves can be shortsighted to one another's suffering. Not every ailment is visible and it's heartbreaking to see how often people who need the most support and encouragement can be misunderstood and mistreated. This compelling story gives a glimpse of disability with sensitivity, grace, humor, and romance. This story is a must read. If you or anyone you love suffers with any kind of dibilitation, it's a double must read.
